Abstract
The purposes of this research were to study: 1) the current states, desirable states, and priority needs on community participation in the management of the One District One Quality School Project; and 2) guidelines for the priority needs on community participation in the management of the One District One Quality School Project. This study employed a mixed - method research. The samples consisted of 293 school administrators, teachers, and chairpersons of basic education school committees under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office Buriram. They were selected using the Krejcie and Morgan table and stratified random sampling. The target group consisted of seven experts selected by purposive sampling. The research instruments were a questionnaire with a reliability of .90, and semi-structured interview. The statistics used for data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation, Priority Need Index (PNI Modified) and content analysis.
The research findings revealed that the overall current states were at a high level, with the highest mean score in community participation in evaluation. The ideal states were at the highest level in overall mean score in community participation in implementation. The highest priority needs were community participation in implementation, followed by community participation in benefit sharing, community participation in planning, and community participation in evaluation, respectively. The guidelines for addressing the priority needs on community participation in management of the One District One Quality School Project, covered ten aspects, with 33 approaches.
