Abstract

The research titled “A Study and Analysis of the Practices of Luang Pu Chob Thansamo” aims to: 1. Study the principles of practice in Theravada Buddhism, 2. Study the practices of Luang Pu Chob Thansamo, and 3. Analyze the practices of Luang Pu Chob Thansamo. This research is qualitative research using documentary research methods, collecting data from the Tripitaka scriptures, books, dissertations, theses, articles, journals, and websites.

          The research findings are as follows: 1. The principles of practice in Theravada Buddhism focus on practice for liberation through the cultivation of morality, concentration, and wisdom, with consistent practice to develop habits. 2. The practices of Luang Pu Chob Thansamo are characterized by modesty, simplicity, loving-kindness, ascetic practices, meditation training, and teaching that emphasizes simplicity yet depth. 3. The practice principles of Luang Pu Chob Thanasamo are in line with Theravada Buddhist principles, particularly in training the mind to be calm and letting go of attachments. However, they also have a unique characteristic that emphasizes applying Dhamma principles concretely in daily life. This research indicates that Luang Pu Chob Thanasamo's practice principles can serve as a model for developing monks and lay Buddhists to have mental stability and moral integrity. Moreover, they can be applied in education, Buddhist propagation, and social development, to preserve the values of Buddhism sustainably.
