The guidelines for career development for the elderly are participatory. by the cooperation of Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna with the community for career development for the elderly and enhance the group's product development and generate income for the elderly to have a good quality of life

Abstract

This research is a participatory action research. The objective is to study guidelines on occupational development among the elderly to establish and operate the elderly occupational group in Ban Koh Ta Thien community, Mai Ngam sub-district, Mueang district, Tak province. The target group was 20 elders at Ban Koh Ta Thien community. Data was collected through researching previous papers, administering questionnaires, conducting in-depth interviews, and implementing group brainstorming discussions. The data was analyzed with inductive summaries and descriptive statistics.          The results of the research can be concluded that 1) the pre-operational phase beginning with the results of opinion poll found that there was a need to be encouraged to establish an occupational group for the elderly and assist group management. Moreover, the production of jasmine flowers from tissue was the first priority job needed to promote, which required knowledge training in the production 2) the operating phase held brainstorming meeting together and conducted training workshops with the interested elderly by a group of researchers and lecturers helping to pass on knowledge to them until they could practice the skills fluently and continuously carried out the activities as their job. Additionally, this phrase included creating product’s brand, labels, and packaging. Meanwhile, business operations and distributing the products for the elderly were also planned. 3) The follow-up and evaluation phrase showed that the production and distribution of the commercial products were successful. This resulted in constant production. Thus, the elderly was satisfied with their performance because they were able to work from home to earn money for themselves. Finally, they learned to operate their own activities in production, marketing, finance, accounting and management among their group.
