Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 16-point TH SarabunPSK font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • In-text citations and references in the manuscript should conform to the APA (American Psychological Association) 7th referencing style.

Author Guidelines

1. Types of Submissions

Manuscripts submitted for consideration must be research articles, academic articles, book reviews, or test reviews related to English language teaching or English linguistics. They must not have been previously published in any journal or other publication. All submissions are subject to editorial discretion and peer review by qualified experts.

2. Language of Manuscripts

Manuscripts may be written in either Thai or English.

  • For English articles: The title, abstract, and keywords must be in English.
  • For Thai articles: The title, abstract, and keywords must be provided in both Thai and English.

In the case of multiple authors, please clearly indicate the corresponding author.

3. Manuscript Format

Submit manuscripts in MS Word format using the TH SarabunPSK font:

  • 18-point font size for headings
  • 16-point font size for content
  • Single line spacing

The total length (including references) must not exceed the word limits specified for each article type. Please use the journal's template, which can be downloaded from the following link:

4. Article Types and Word Limits

  • Research Articles: Abstract (200–250 words), Total length ≤ 8,500 words
  • Academic Articles: Abstract (200–250 words), Total length ≤ 4,500 words
  • Book Reviews: Total length ≤ 1,200 words
  • Test Reviews: Total length ≤ 1,200 words

5. Citation Style

In-text citations and references must follow the APA 7th Edition format.

6. Language Accuracy and AI Disclosure

Authors must thoroughly check the language, grammar, spelling, and formatting of their manuscripts before submission. Plagiarism is not permitted. If AI tools are used, their use must be clearly disclosed in the manuscript.

7. Submission Method

Authors must create an account through the ThaiJO system and submit their manuscripts via the following link:

Published articles are the joint copyright of the authors and Chulalongkorn University Language Institute.
