Adaptations of Teachers in Digital Age: From New Normal to Next Normal

Abstract

This study is a pilot project aiming to develop pedagogical material innovation for English language pedagogy as such innovation has been gaining more attention since the post-COVID-19 pandemic was reported to disrupt the established education system of the nation. The objectives of the study are to investigate any obstacles regarding pedagogical options already installed at the target area and to develop ideation for further advancement of pedagogical innovations tailored to be in sync with the uniqueness of the learning style of the learners. The study methods mainly launched among teachers included classroom observation, in-depth interviews, and repeated interviews, while purposive sampling was used for sample selection among learners. Results found that there is a possibility that the prototype in this pilot could further evolve the learning recovery of the learners. At the same time, there is also a possibility that the prototype could be used in the internal mentoring process of the school.
