Abstract

          State of Israel is the country that still has a mandatory military conscription system. The Defense Service Law requires all Israeli citizens, both males and females over the age of 18, be enlisted in the military. Recruiter may call person who has reached the age of recruitment to serve in the military. Entering the registration process and physical examination which must be approved by the medical board to be used for future assignments in the army. In addition, the Israeli military service incorporates gender equality principles in the Defense Service Law. In the past, the roles and duties of women in the military were not equal with men. But a lawsuit was filed, and the Israeli High Court's ruling set the precedent for equal opportunities for women to join the military as well as men. Nowadays, the Defense Service Law gives women the same rights and opportunities to choose any position in the military as men. moreover, Israel's conscription is not only recruit males or females, but also LGBT people are being recruited, too. The Laws offering transgender people to access in the military. It also allows people to undergo gender reassignment treatment and surgery during their military service. It can be used as a guideline to consider amending the provisions of Thailand's military service law, which still prescribes this duty for only the Thais men. But it does not require women or other genders to be required to serve in the military.
