Abstract

This research aimed to: (1) develop and validate a learning model based on the creative thinking process integrated with constructivism to enhance the creative writing ability of undergraduate students; and (2) examine the effectiveness of the learning model. The study employed a research and development (R&D) methodology. The participants were 30 second-year students enrolled in the Bachelor of Education Program in Thai Language at Surindra Rajabhat University during the first semester of the 2025 academic year, selected through simple random sampling. The research instruments consisted of the learning model, lesson plans, and a creative writing ability assessment. Data were analyzed using mean (M), standard deviation (SD), and a one-sample t-test.
The findings revealed that:
1. The learning model consisted of five components: principles, objectives, learning process, measurement and evaluation, and conditions for success. The learning process comprised four stages: Igniting the Dream, Envisioning the Dream, Expanding the Dream, and Realizing the Dream. The overall quality of the model was rated at a very high level (M = 4.20, SD = 0.49).
2. The students achieved a mean score of 91.45% in creative writing ability (M = 18.29, SD = 1.86), which was significantly higher than the established criterion at the .05 level of statistical significance. In addition, students’ overall satisfaction with the learning model was rated at a very high level (M = 4.58, SD = 0.12).
