The Results of Applying Documentary Film with Audience Interaction for Kantrum Performance Conservation and Inheritance of Dong Man Cultural Village in Surin Province

Abstract

Applying modern technology to conserve and inherit the Kantrum performance of Dong Man cultural village in Surin province is essential in the present time. The research aimed to create a documentary film with audience interaction for Kantrum performance conservation and inheritance of Dong Man Cultural village in Surin province and to study the results of applying the documentary film. The research method was participatory action research using thirty targets who were committee and members of Dong Man cultural village. The research instruments were the documentary film, posters, and a satisfaction questionnaire. The data analysis used descriptive statistics. The results found that the documentary film could view via YouTube which scanned QR code for access from the poster. The content presented the story as follows: the way of community life, the meaning of Kantrum, the importance of Kantrum for people in the community, and problems happening from entertainment business competition. The audience interaction was found that it was accomplished according to the plotline. Moreover, the results of applying the documentary film found that the satisfaction mean by the documentary film was good. The conclusion of the recommendations found that the viewers need the internet to access the documentary film, there were few decisions in the documentary film so it should be more decisions ways, it should have a performance, it should include keywords on YouTube, it should promote in different channels, the films should create in a variety of languages, and should create more documentary film with audiences interactive. In conclusion, the documentary film is an online learning resource that will lead to participation in the conservation and inheritance of the Kantrum performance of Dong Man cultural village in Surin province.
