Acquisition of information, Worshiping Behavior, and Participation in Activities to Support K-POP Artists' Fanclub

Abstract

This research on “Acquisition of information, Worshiping Behavior, and Participation in Activities to Support K-Pop Artists’ Fanclub” aimed at studying demographic characteristics of the Fanclub, acquisition of information through the fanbase account of K-Pop artists and their worshiping behavior, to find if they related to the participation in activities organized by the fanbase account via online and offline to support their favorite artists or not. This quantitative research collected data through an online survey in June 2022 from K-Pop artists' fans who have a membership with at least one fanbase account and are aged 18 and over. A total of 300 persons were qualified and participated. Based on the study, it was found that the demographic characteristics of the Fanclub, acquisition of information, and their worshiping behavior related to the participation in activities organized by the fanbase account online and offline to support their favorite artists. Most were female, aged 25-44 years old. They receive information through the fanbase Twitter the most ( = 4.75), and the bond with the artists of worshiping behavior was very agreeable ( = 4.11). Moreover, online participation in activities organized by the fanbase accounted for the most frequent ( = 4.01) According to the study, the discovery demonstrated that the Fanclub who had the worshipping behavior with the curiosity for entertainment were more frequent to receive information (r = 432***) while the Fanclub who had the worshipping behavior with a bond to the artists were more frequent to participate in online activities to support their favorites (r = 489***). And the Fanclub, who crazily worship the artists, participate in offline activities more frequently (r = 486***).
