A study of learning achievement and productivity of the 5th grade students in the topic of “Types of the cloud” by using blended learning approach

This study compared the students’ learning achievement and their ability to create scientific works before and after using a mixed learning method between Inquiry-Based and IT Learning. Thirty grade 5 students at Watkubon (Wattana u-thit) School, Bangkok, selected using cluster random sampling, were taught 3 lessons designed by the mixing of the two learning approaches. The participants’ learning achievement was tested and their ability to create scientific works was evaluated. Basic statistics including mean, standard deviation and t-test for one sample were used for the data analysis. The results showed that the subjects’ learning achievement was higher than the set criterion of 70% at the statistical significance level of .05. The subjects’ ability to create scientific work was also found higher than the set criterion of 70% at the statistic significance level of .05.
