Plagiarism Policy
The Thai-Journal Citation Index Center database, which includes the International Journal of Sociologies and Anthropologies Science Reviews (IJSASR), has a plagiarism detecting tool called CopyCatch. Before being submitted for publication, every manuscript undergoes a 24-hour plagiarism check. We will notify the author(s) and ask them to either rewrite the article or cite the sources from which the content was taken if plagiarism is discovered by the editor-in-chief, editor, reviewer, etc. at any point during the article's creation, either before or after peer review and acceptance. The author is notified and the work may be rejected or modified if more than 25% of the content is plagiarized.
Plagiarism in any form is unacceptable and a serious violation of academic standards. Examples of plagiarism include:
1. Word-for-word copying of portions of another's writing without enclosing the copied passage in quotation marks and acknowledging the source in the appropriate scholarly convention.
2. The use of a particularly unique term or concept without acknowledging the original author or source.
3. The paraphrasing or abbreviated restatement of someone else's ideas without acknowledging that another person's text has been the basis for the paraphrasing.
4. False citation: material should not be attributed to a source from which it has not been obtained.
5. False data: data that has been fabricated or altered in a laboratory or experiment; although not factually plagiarism, this is clearly a form of academic fraud.
6. Unacknowledged multiple authors or collaboration: The contributions of each author or collaborator should be made clear.
7. Self-plagiarism/double submission: the submission of the same or a very similar paper to two or more publications.
Peer Review Policy
The International Journal of Sociologies and Anthropologies Science Reviews (IJSASR) is a double-blind, peer-reviewed journal published on a bimonthly basis. The journal publishes theoretical, empirical, and experimental research articles that make significant contributions to the fields of sociology and anthropology.
All research manuscripts, as well as most other article types submitted to IJSASR, undergo rigorous peer review. Each submission is evaluated by at least two independent expert reviewers under a double-blind process, ensuring that both author and reviewer identities remain confidential.
Reviewer selection is based on expertise, academic reputation, prior performance, conflict of interest considerations, and, when relevant, recommendations from the editorial board. Reviewers are expected to provide timely, thorough, objective, and constructive feedback. Communication between authors and reviewers is mediated exclusively through the editorial team to maintain impartiality and confidentiality.
Peer Review Process
The peer review process at IJSASR consists of the following five stages:
1. Initial Editorial Assessment (approx. 1 week)
Upon submission, manuscripts are screened by the editorial team to ensure compliance with the journal’s Aims and Scope and Author Guidelines. Criteria include:
-Relevance to the journal’s scope
-Compliance with formatting and referencing requirements
-Clarity of writing and overall readability
-Quality and sufficiency of references
-Language proficiency
-Plagiarism check (similarity index must not exceed 25%)
Manuscripts that fail to meet these standards, or that contain excessive redundancy or citation errors, may be rejected at this stage. Authors are promptly notified of the decision.
2. External Peer Review (approx. 4–6 weeks)
Manuscripts that pass editorial screening are sent to at least two independent reviewers under the double-blind peer review system. Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on originality, methodological rigor, contribution to the field, and ethical compliance.
-Review outcomes are categorized as follows:
-Accept Submission
-Minor Revision Required
-Major Revision Required (Resubmit for Review)
-Resubmit Elsewhere
-Decline Submission
-Comments Only
All reviewers of IJSASR are expected to comply with the “Responsibilities of Reviewers” outlined in the journal’s Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement (PEMS).
3. Editorial Decision and Notification (approx. 1–2 weeks)
Following receipt of reviewer reports, the editors carefully evaluate the recommendations and make the final decision. Only manuscripts receiving acceptance or acceptance with minor revision proceed to the next stage. Manuscripts requiring major revision are reassessed upon resubmission. Manuscripts receiving rejection are not considered further.
4. Revision Stage (approx. 1–3 weeks)
Authors receiving revision requests must address all reviewer and editor comments and resubmit the revised manuscript within the specified deadline. A detailed response to each comment must accompany the revision. Failure to adequately respond may result in rejection.
5. Final Evaluation of Revised Manuscripts (approx. 1–2 weeks)
Upon resubmission, the editorial team verifies whether the revisions satisfactorily address all comments from reviewers and editors. If approved, the manuscript is formally accepted and forwarded to the production team for publication.
