An Analysis of the Literary Work on Nok-Het-Nuea-Phon of Pra Bodhiñanathera (Chah Subhaddo) with the Basis of Interpretation DOI:

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the literary work on Nok-Het-Nuea-Phon of Pra Bodhiñanathera (Chah Subhaddo) with the basis of interpretation. The study found that the principles of interpretation used as the basis for the analysis are divided into three topics: 1) the intention of the message, consisting of affirmative sentences and questions, 2) phrasing, consisting of 3 types of meaning: direct meaning, implied meaning, and comparative meaning, and 3) attitude, consisting of four subtopics: Irony, condemnation, admiration, and provocation. These three principles resulted in the interpretation of the literary work from Pra Bodhiñanathera’s teaching to match the intent and meaning that he had left so that it could be understood without mistake.
