Developing Finger Placement Skills on Piano Using the Practice Exercises for Placing Fingers on the Edge of the Piano for Students in Grade 5 Northern School for The Blind Under the Royal Patronage of Her Majesty the King Chiang Mai Province

Abstract

This research aimed to study the development of finger placement skills on the piano for visually impaired students, who are low vision. The target group was 1 children with visual impairment who studied in Secondary School Year 11 Northern School for the Blind under the Royal Patronage of Her Majesty the King Chiang Mai Province. The research instruments consisted of 1) Individualized Educational Management Plan (IEP) 2) Individualized Learning Management Plan (IIP) 3) Practice form for placing fingers on the piano wedge. Data analyzed by using percentage and content analysis. The results showed a case study of international note symbols in Scale C Major with the chorus. Read notes according to the rhythm of international note values. According to Scale C Major with the right finger up to 90 percent, which can be performed better than chasing Scale C Major with the left finger. However, the researcher has experimented with a case study to chase Scale C Major with the fingers of the right hand and the finger of the left hand, simultaneously on both sides. The results showed that the score was in the hundred 95 levels, which was considered at a very good level.
