Speech Act of Invitation for Community-based Tourism in Foodwork

Abstract

        The article aims to study the speech act of invitation for community-based tourism in “Foodwork” program 18 episodes from January to June 2021 by collecting the utterances and analyzing the speech acts by implementing John R. Searle's theory of speech pragmatics and assortment of speech acts and finding percentage of each utterances. The results of the study showed that there were 149 utterances in total. The most found group was the assertives with 90 utterances, accounting for 60.40 % , followed by the directive with 42 utterances, accounting for 28.19%. and the expressives 17 utterances accounting for 11.41%. The content of the utterances was an invitation to present good raw materials in each local community, local food and cooking wisdom that utterances can be contributed to promote and support of local tourism, which will tourism and the domestic economy further.
