A Study of Students Satisfaction for Text Development in Basic Chinese Course, Faculty of Liberal arts, Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi

Abstract

This research aimed to study the freshman students’ satisfaction towards using the textbook in Basic Chinese Course, and develop a textbook in Basic Chinese Course efficiently. The results showed that the students satisfied with the textbook in Basic Chinese Course in terms of contents and format at “high” level. In the part of contents, the contents of the textbook in Basic Chinese Course matched with the learning objectives of the course. The knowledge gained from textbooks can be applied in daily life. And language used in the textbooks is clear and easy to understand. For format of textbook, the students satisfied with format of Basic Chinese textbook and with composition of textbook. The students satisfied with the contents having the use of consonants, vowels, tones and other markers correctly. In the composition of the textbook, there are definitions of terms that are easy to understand. Student's needs towards the improvement and development of textbooks in Basic Chinese Language are the students requested to develop textbooks into the Internet, Texts should be prepared in the form of CD, VCD, DVD. And information systems should be used to provide information about textbooks.
