The Development of Information Systems for Research Management with Google Sites in the Faculty of Education, Chiang Mai Rajabhat University

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to develop an information system for research management with Google Sites at the Faculty of Education at Chiang Mai Rajabhat University using the Deming Quality Cycle (PDCA) and to assess the satisfaction of faculty members at the Faculty of Education, Chiang Mai Rajabhat University, towards the information system for research management with Google Sites using the Deming quality cycle. The research population consisted of 71 faculty members from 6 departments at Chiang Mai Rajabhat University, and the sample group consisted of 60 faculty members from the departments chosen by convenient random sampling. The research tools were an information system for research management, an information system quality assessment form for research management, and an information system satisfaction assessment form for research management. The statistics used in data analysis were percentage, mean and standard deviation. The results showed that the information system for research management with Google Sites at Chiang Mai Rajabhat University's Faculty of Education, which used the Deming Quality Cycle (PDCA), had an overall good quality (85.78%) in both parts: 1) the efficiency of the information system (88.00%); and 2) the components of the information system (88.00%). The faculty members were fairly satisfied with the information system for research management in all three aspects: 1) information systems (= 4.20, S.D.=0.73), 2) information in the information system (=4.19, S.D.=0.70), and 3) utilization (=4.19, S.D.=0.73).
