- Key Publication Ethics Policies
6.1 Plagiarism
- All manuscripts are checked with plagiarism detection tools (e.g., CopyCatch) within ~24 hours of submission.
- The acceptable similarity index is below 25% (excluding references, common phrases, tables, figures, standard methods).
- Manuscripts exceeding this may be returned for revision or rejected.
- Proven plagiarism, fabrication, or duplication after publication will result in retraction or correction, in line with COPE:
https://publicationethics.org/core-practices
6.2 Authorship
- Authorship is limited to those who made significant intellectual contributions to the study.
- Others (e.g., technical help, language editing, general supervision) should be listed in Acknowledgments, not as authors.
6.3 Conflicts of Interest
All authors, reviewers, and editors must declare any personal, financial, or institutional conflicts that could influence research or editorial decisions (e.g., funding, employment, consultancies, close relationships, competing interests).
6.4 AI-Generated Content
- Generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) cannot be authors.
- If used (for text editing, summarization, language polishing, or data assistance), authors must declare:
- Name and version of the tool
- Purpose and extent of use
- Confirmation of human oversight and full responsibility
- Undisclosed AI use may lead to rejection or retraction.
6.5 Retraction and Correction
Articles may be retracted for:
- Proven misconduct or plagiarism
- Data fabrication or falsification
- Major errors affecting conclusions
- Serious undisclosed conflicts of interest
Retraction notices will be clearly labeled, linked to the original article, state the reason, and remain permanently accessible.
Minor errors not affecting conclusions will be corrected by Errata/Corrections.
6.6 Misconduct Handling
All allegations of ethical misconduct are handled according to COPE flowcharts:
https://publicationethics.org/guidance/Flowcharts
Investigations are:
- Confidential
- Fair and unbiased
- Fully documented
6.7 Data Availability and Research Transparency
IJSASR supports transparency, reproducibility, and accessibility in research.
Authors must include a Data Availability Statement (DAS), for example:
- “The datasets generated and/or analyzed during the current study are available from the corresponding author on reasonable request.”
- “All data generated or analyzed during this study are included in this published article.”
- “The data supporting the findings of this study are available in [repository name] at [DOI/URL].”
- “Data sharing is not applicable to this article as no new data were created or analyzed.”
If data cannot be shared, authors must provide a valid reason (e.g., confidentiality, ethics, data protection).
IJSASR follows COPE guidance on data sharing and reproducibility:
