The Ontological Study of TV Series “A Lifelong Journey”: The Intersection of Narrative, Performance, and Culture
Abstract
Background and Aim: A Lifelong Journey is a landmark Chinese television drama that reflects the socio-political and cultural transformations of modern China over the past five decades. This study aims to explore the series’ narrative and performative strategies, its role in cultural dissemination, and its impact on audience engagement through an ontological lens.
Materials and Methods: The study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative methods such as literature review, textual analysis, and interviews with quantitative audience surveys. This framework provides a comprehensive analysis of the series’ thematic depth, character development, and audience reception.
Results: The findings reveal that A Lifelong Journey successfully integrates historical authenticity with relatable storytelling, achieving record-breaking viewership and critical acclaim.
