The Attitude of Tourist Guides Toward Ecotourism Management in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province

Abstract

               This research is to study the attitude of Thai guides toward Eco-tourism management in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. The sampling in the study is the 45 guides who work for the tour companies in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province and have guiding licenses. They were asked a series of questions on the questionnaire. Data were analyzed by using percentage, mean, standard deviation and using Nonparametric Statistics for testing hypothesis by mean of Mann-Whitney Test.

                The result of study show that they are from small business families and have working experiences less than 5 years. They are trained and have personal experiences on Eco-tourism. The tourist guide's attitude towards Eco-tourism management is divided into 2 areas: knowledge and understanding of ecotourism management have a moderate level of attitude and on the importance of tourism management Attitude is high. Hypothesis testing found that Tour guides with different work experience, training and personal experiences in tourism have no different attitude on ecotourism management.
