A Study of the Current Situations and Needs for Instructional Media of Occupational Courses at the Secondary Education Level, Assumption Samut Prakan School

Abstract

The objectives of this study were: 1) to study the current situations and the needs for instructional media of occupational courses at the secondary education level of Assumption Samut Prakan School; 2) to compare personal factors with the current situations of using instructional media; and 3) to compare personal factors with the needs for using instructional media in occupational courses at the secondary education level. This study was quantitative research. A questionnaire was used to collect data from 339 students, who were in grades 1-6 of Assumption Samut Prakan School. The sample group were selected by using a multi-stage random sampling method. Statistics used in the research were mean (), standard deviation (S.D.), t-test, and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA).  The results showed that the current use of media in the secondary education level of Assumption Samut Prakan School's teaching and learning of occupational courses was at a high level (=3.60); The needs for using media in the teaching and learning of occupational courses, in the secondary education level of Assumption Samut Prakan School was at a high level (=3.98); and According to hypothesis testing, it was found that: the students with different genders and grade levels had different current  situations of using teaching and learning media in occupational courses of secondary level, Assumption Samut Prakan School meanwhile, the students with different genders and grade levels had no different needs for using instructional media in occupational courses in the secondary education level of Assumption Samut Prakan School.
