Entrepreneurial Traits and Competencies Influencing the Stakeholder Relationship Management of Event Management Business

This study focuses on the entrepreneurial traits and competencies influencing the stakeholder relationship management of event management business. The purposes of the study are to 1) to discover the entrepreneurial traits that influence on the relation management with stakeholders of event management business, 2) to analyze the entrepreneurial competencies elements of the relation management with stakeholders of event management business, and 3) to develop the form of entrepreneur competencies in relation management with stakeholders of event management business. The research methodology employed mixed method to analyze the data. Data collection used in-depth interview to nine medium-sized and small-sized businesses. Qualitative data analysis employed content analysis and a questionnaire set for the 286 entrepreneurs. Quantitative data analysis employed basic statistics, confirmation factor analysis, correlation analysis, and structural equation modeling.
The research found that entrepreneurial traits and competencies of entrepreneurship have a positive direct influence on stakeholder relationship management and have indirect influence on the results of actions in managing stakeholder relationships by passing the medium variable that is stakeholder relationship management. The results of the research have shown three forms of competency in stakeholder relationship management as follows: 1) Coordinator is a model that integrates innovative creative competencies and the features of being creative together 2) Ranger is an integrated model the ability to respond quickly to changes and the characteristics of being like a father and mother together 3) Network unity maker is an integrated form joining social performance and features of being trustworthy, respectively. So if entrepreneurs want to increase their chances of success from good performance, entrepreneurs need to focus on the development of their own entrepreneurial features and competencies in order to continually lead the performance in managing good relationships.
