The Effect of Relationship Between Factors Affecting Work Stress and Satisfaction at Work on the Performance of Professional Nurses of Rayong Hospital

Abstract

The objectives of the study were as follows (1) to study which factors affected work performance of professional nurses of Rayong Hospital and (2) to study whether the work satisfaction affected work performance of professional nurses of Rayong Hospital. The sample group consisted of 300 professional nurses. The instrument used for data collection was questionnaires asking about respondents’ personal, stress and satisfaction at work, and performance. The statistics consisted of frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation, and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM).

From the data analysis, it was found out that the majority of 300 respondents were female nurses whose age ranged from 31 to 40 years. Their length of employment was 11 – 20 years. They were married and had bachelor’s degree and their average monthly income was 10,000 baht. From the data analysis, it was that factors affecting work stress influenced the professional nurses’ work performance and that satisfaction at work affected work performance of the professional nurses of Rayong Hospital.
