Abstract

The objective of this research was to study consumer’s attitude and Intention to buy eco cars of working-age consumers in Bangkok. The samples were 400 respondents who purchased or planed to buy eco cars. Questionnaires were used as tools to collect data. The statistics used for data analysis included percentage, mean, standard deviation, and Pearson Correlation. The field survey ran between July and August 2012.

The research findings illustrated that:

Most respondents were male, had age between 21 and 30 years old, had bachelor’s degree educational background, had single status, and worked for corporate. They had average monthly around 10,001 to 20,000 baht.

Intention to buy eco cars was fuel efficiency, size of engine, safety standards, and control of carbon dioxide emission, respectively. Per accessories of eco cars, respondents considered automatic transmission, global positioning system (GPS), power folding side mirrors, theft-prevention system, anti lock braking system, respectively. Attitudes on marketing mix that affected the decision to buy were product, promotion, price, and place, respectively.
