Abstract

The study examines how Buddhist principles, particularly Paṭiccasamuppāda (dependent origination), can enhance research frameworks across fields like environmental science, psychology, and social sciences by focusing on causality and interdependence. This approach facilitates a deeper analysis of complex issues, leading to better interventions and policies. The paper explores designing research models based on Paṭiccasamuppāda through a systematic literature review of scholarly works. The thematic analysis identifies patterns that align Buddhist principles with contemporary methodologies. Findings highlight that incorporating Paṭiccasamuppāda enables a holistic perspective, emphasizing feedback loops and causal relationships for deeper insights into phenomena. This framework addresses real-world challenges such as social inequality, health crises, and climate change, while enhancing theoretical rigor. By focusing on interdependencies, it promotes comprehensive solutions and broadens cross-disciplinary knowledge. This integration not only refines theoretical models but also effectively addresses urgent global issues. The Paṭiccasamuppāda-based framework offers a novel way to understand complex phenomena, blending empirical research with philosophical insights to produce meaningful and theoretically robust solutions.
